Altumhost proudly took part as a sponsor at OpenSource Day Florence, held on April 24 at the Social Hub Firenze Belfiore in Florence.
From the very beginning, the atmosphere in Florence was exceptional. The event space was buzzing with energy, curiosity, and genuine passion for technology. For us, it was not just about visibility as a sponsor, but about being part of meaningful conversations and contributing to a community we truly believe in.
Conversations That Matter
One of the most valuable aspects of the event was the opportunity to meet and talk with so many incredible people. Throughout the day, our team had dozens of engaging conversations with attendees from different backgrounds - developers building innovative tools, startup teams scaling their infrastructure, and open-source contributors sharing their experiences.
We discussed everything from hosting challenges and performance optimization to security, scalability, and the future of decentralized technologies. These conversations are exactly why events like this matter - they create space for knowledge exchange, new ideas, and real connections.
The Ducks Were Everywhere
We also brought something a bit more fun to the conference - our Altumhost ducks. What started as a small giveaway quickly turned into one of the most recognizable elements of our presence at the event.
The ducks were a huge hit. Attendees were excited to grab one, take photos, and carry them around throughout the venue. It was great to see how something simple could spark smiles, start conversations, and make our booth even more approachable.
Inspiring Talks
The conference agenda was packed with high-quality talks covering a wide range of open-source topics. We had the chance to listen to presentations on modern infrastructure, cloud-native solutions, developer tooling, and community-driven innovation.
Many of the talks were not only technically insightful but also inspiring on a broader level - highlighting how open-source continues to shape the future of technology and collaboration. It was clear that the ecosystem is evolving rapidly, and events like this help everyone stay aligned with the latest trends and best practices.
Thank You, Florence
We’d like to thank everyone who took a duck, had a conversation, or simply stopped by to say hello. Your openness and enthusiasm made this experience truly memorable.
A big shout-out also goes to the organizers for delivering a well-organized, engaging, and inspiring event. Florence was an amazing city, and we’re already looking forward to the next edition.
See you at the next event!
